Community Engagement
I believe engaging with the community helps understand the extent of the issues that are creating injustices in these populations. In turn using equitable practices creates sustainable practices which empower communities in the struggle for equity in social change.

SBCC Met Tutor
I was an SBCC MET Tutor for 1 year in which I tutored English classes focused on racial and cultural diversity with an emphasis on social justice.
Diversify our Narrative- Fundraising Chair
I held a Co fundraising position in an Anti-Racists GrassRoots organization that implemented BIPOC novels into the K-12 Public school in Carpinteria, CA
Refugee Children Center- Administrative Department Intern
I worked in the administrative department that focused on grant writing, fundraising tool kits and making flyers both in English and in Spanish.
All in For Azusa
Through this internship I worked with two other students to develop an asset map for the All in for Azusa project, that highlighted resources in the community that address the social determinants of health
CARECEN
I helped conduct Mock U.S. citizenship interviews for people in the process of getting naturalized
and made flyers both in English and Spanish when new immigration policies were implemented.
Mecha de UCLA- Yolotzonyo Intern
I helped implement a youth empowerment project for high school students that live in underrepresented LA areas. We focused on mental health, becoming advocates for social change, and overall becoming engaged in their community.
Hermanas Unidas de UCLA-Herstorian Chair
As the Herstorian for Hermanas Unidas de UCLA, I was in charge of keeping our website updated, and documenting all HaU events. I also hosted events to build community for Latinx women at UCLA. On top I developed the first podcast for the org called “Platicas with your Hermana” with 15 episodes in total.
